Medical/Health Issues
As therapeutic as a good hot soak can be, some people have medical conditions (such as high blood pressure or heart conditions) which require a doctor's consent. If you have current or chronic health issues or are pregnant, consult your physician before soaking at Shoji.

A.D.A.
Shoji Retreat complies with all guidelines of the American with Disabilities Act. As handicapped parking is limited, please let us know of any special needs when making reservations.

Our Water
The tubs at Shoji utilize state of the art purification systems including ozonators, copper/silver ions and continuous filtration systems. Virtually, the water from every tub is completely sanitized every twenty minutes. Your hot tub will be crystal clear upon your arrival.

TUB CLUB Membership
Choose a Week Day card or an Anytime card. Both are good for 12 visits. The Week Day card is good Monday through Thursday 10 am to 4 pm., $252.00, you save $84.00 and get three free visits. The Anytime card is $280.00, you save $56.00 with two free visits.

Nudity
Bathing suits are optional in all private tubs and required in the sauna. Bathing suits are not required in the cold plunge.

Sustenance
Available in the lobby, you will find bottled water, juices, and light snacks which can be added to your tab during your stay. Please do not eat in the tub areas. Plastic and metal drink containers are OK in tub areas.

Alcohol
Alcohol consumption before and during your visit to Shoji may impair judgment, cause loss of consciousness or injury to self and others, and is discouraged. Never the less, if you do bring glass, we ask that you notify us so that we can provide a safe container as no glass may be in or around the tub areas.

Pets
Please make accommodations for your pets before coming to Shoji. Pets cannot be left in the car while guests enjoy their hot tub experience.

Smoking
Shoji Retreat is a non-smoking spa. Please do not smoke in or around the property or buildings.

Valuables
Leave all valuables at your hotel or home as Shoji cannot be responsible for valuables on the property or in cars in the parking lot. Lockers are provided, with locks but regardless, we make this suggestion to all guests.

DIRECTIONS

From I-240 and Downtown Asheville (we are 8-10 minutes from town).

Take I-240 east to exit #9, which is Hwy. #74A towards Fairview/Lake Lure/Bat Cave, go underneath I-40 and continue under the Blue Ridge Parkway to the traffic light.

Go right on Avondale Road. Exactly ½ mile, bear right at fork (continue on Avondale Road), at exactly ½ mile, turn right onto Avondale Heights Road.

Stay on paved road and stay to the left until you crest over the top of the mountain. As you descend, you will be facing Shoji Retreat. Continue down the drive and park in designated spots. Parking is very limited; please call in advance for tours and reservations.

From I-40
Exit 53A (we are 4 minutes away), down ramp, go right, under Blue Ridge Parkway to traffic light (1/8 mile).

Go right on Avondale Road. Exactly ½ mile, bear right at fork (continue on Avondale Road), at exactly ½ mile, turn right onto Avondale Heights Road.

Parking
Shoji Retreats property adjoins the national forest and Blue Ridge Parkway property. Additionally, you pass through a quiet neighborhood to arrive at Shoji. For these reasons and the fact that Shoji parking is very limited, we ask that you bring one car per tub rental. Please advise us if you must bring two cars.
