How do I make a Spa Reservation?
We recommend making All Spa Reservations at least 2 weeks in advance for specific dates and times. The further out you can reserve your Soak, Massage or Spa Package the better!

What is Shoji's Cancellation Policy?
Is a Service Charge Included?
Yes, a 20% service charge will be charged at the time of booking.
Do you Offer Gift Certificates?
Yes, We Do Offer Gift Certificates. They may be purchased here on our website under our spa menu drop down or call 828-299-0999 to place your order by phone with our reservationist!
Gift certificates are available for individual services, packages or dollar amounts. They are non-refundable and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.
Gift Certificates may also be purchased for Accommodations. Please Click the Lodging tab and it will automatically route to our booking software and information.
Please present your gift certificate at the time of your service.
Do I need to Shower Before my Soak?
YES. A shower is Required to remove all lotions, oils, makeup, hair product, spray tan, etc. Recently dyed hair, MUST be pulled up and out of the water completely. These efforts are required to keep our tubs clean for all of our guests.
Yes, the tubs are cleaned through regular circulation and from the “natural” chlorine our 100% PURE SALT creates in addition to hand scrubbing by our Maintenance team everyday. We are proud to provide natural, safe and naturally sanitized tubs for everyone’s enjoyment every day of the year!

Our Signature Shoji Tea Blend, made in partnership, locally with Dobra Tea, is steeped in our Japanese Iron teapots and served with Japanese Bamboo wooden cups, Japanese Tea Crackers and Raw, Local Honey all on a beautiful tray and delivered to you Tub Side!
Request Tub Side Tea Service at time of your Appointment OR Upon Check-In! It makes a wonderful addition to your EXPERIENCE…..
Is Smoking Permitted at Shoji?
NO. Thank you for keeping our facilities smoke free for our team and guests enjoyment. We do not allow any smoking on property at any time. This is not only to protect the well being of our facility, but protect the National Forest we reside on.
What happens if it rains?
Rain or Shine, our tubs are Amazing. Many of our guests comment on how enjoyable the rain feels as you soak. Our private hot tubs are open to the sky so we recommend bringing a hat if you do not enjoy rain on your face.
In the event of Thunder and/or Lightening, we do ask you to exit your tub until passes. You are welcome to enjoy our Sauna or Spa Lounge in the meantime.
What is the clothing policy?
Notice: due to COVID, masks are required in all public spaces. If you do not wish to wear a mask, we may refuse your services.
Bathing suits are Optional in the hot tubs, we ask that when you are walking to and from your tub that you wear the Yukata (Japanese robe) we provide. Our “Wet” Cedar Sauna is communal. Please keep a towel, robe or bathing suit on in our sauna.
During massage, our therapist keep you draped with a sheet and a blanket to ensure your comfort. Please REMOVE your WET bathing suit prior to a massage if you brought one to wear.
Are all the tubs private?
Our tubs are all completely private and can be locked. The front is open so that you can enjoy the scenery of the surrounding forest but no one can see in.
Our “Wet” Cedar Sauna is communal. A Bathing Suit, Towel or Robe is required in the Sauna.
Can I add Bubbles or Bath Salts to my tub?
NO. ANY Additives to our tubs is Strictly Prohibited.
May we light candles in our tub?
NO. ANY use of candles or open flames is Strictly Prohibited. We are in a National Forest.
Will I come in contact with bugs and wildlife while soaking in the hot tub?
Our hot tubs and amenities are outdoors so you may run into a few bugs and critters. We celebrate nature every season of the year.
Can I bring my own Wine or Beer?
We do not permit any food or beverage to be brought in from the outside. We do offer packages that include both white wine and Prosecco. You may upgrade to one of these packages upon arrival. We also offer an array of water, Dram beverages and snacks for purchase.
Can I bring my own Hard Liquor?
NO HARD LIQUOR.
Can I bring food to eat while I'm in the hot tub?
We do not allow food and beverages to be brought in from off premise. We offer snacks for purchase at the front desk.
I'm staying at Shoji, is there food on site?
All accommodations have a microwave, refrigerator, and coffeemaker. There are no dining services at Shoji.
We do offer a Service, “Takeout Central” , that will deliver takeout food to your room from different restaurants around Asheville with Complimentary Delivery! Call, Order and Give them your Special Shoji Guest Code for complimentary delivery.
Can I enjoy the spa without staying overnight in an accommodation?
Of course! Shoji is open to the public. We offer Spa experiences starting at 59.00 per person/hour for our Private Spa Pass! Our Private Spa Pass includes One Full Hour in our completely private hot SALT tub and use of our wet cedar sauna and double cold showers PLUS, a Spa Robe, Rowel and Sandals provided.
Does Shoji allow pets or service animals?
While we all are animal lovers here, we unfortunately do not allow pets or service animals on property, including the parking lot, so we may provide a quiet, serene and tranquil visit for all of our guests.
How do I Reserve an Overnight Stay?
Want to stay at Shoji? Click on our Lodging Page of our Website. It will redirect you to our Accommodation Booking software. You can select dates, check availability, view images of each accommodation and Book Your Stay!
You can stay as long as you like depending upon availability of our rooms.
In-Suite Massage are available in House of Fire, House of Earth and House of Moon.

4:00 PM – 8:00 PM. ( Except on Tuesdays, 4:00 PM-6:00 PM)
To make special arrangements outside our Check-In times, you must call our Spa Reservation Desk at (828) 299-0999 to Confirm.

Are Amenities, Private Hot Tubs or Massages Included with my Overnight Stay?
Unfortunately, Spa Services and amenities are Not Included with Any Accommodation Stay. Please Reserve your Private Spa Pass, Massage or Spa Package by contacting our Spa Coordinators at 828-299-0999.
Is there a Hot Tub inside my Accommodation?
NO. Private Hot Tubs and all Spa Services are to be Reserved with an appointment made with one of our wonderful Spa Coordinators! Spa service fee applies and must be Paid at time of service(s).
Spa Services cannot be Paid along with accommodation or added to your Room.
Are the massage rooms private?
Our massage rooms have been created for absolute visual privacy.
If you brought a bathing suit, please be sure to Remove Your Wet Bathing Suit prior to your Massage.
How far from downtown Asheville are you located?
We are approximately 10 minutes from downtown.
How far from the Biltmore House are you located?
We are approximately 15 minutes from The Biltmore House.
How far from the Grove Park Inn are you located?
We are approximately 20 minutes from the Grove Park Inn.
Are the tubs chorinated?
We offer SALT Hydrotherapy Tubs. Salt produces a Natural chlorine to maintain cleanliness and safety. Additionally, our tubs are completely cleaned through continuous circulation every 10-15 minutes.
Are there age restrictions?
Adults 18 and over on property.
*25 and over to book accommodations.
When should I arrive for my appointment?
We ask that you arrive 15-20 minutes early for your appointment to follow the Japanese tradition of bathing in separate waters.
A Shower is REQUIRED prior to your Soak. You must be free of oils, lotions and perfumes for cleanliness of our Salt Hot Tubs and Cedar Sauna.
Do you allow Groups in the hot tubs?
Due to Covid restrictions and guidelines, currently we are restricting our tub capacity to 4 guests and also scheduling in 15 minute intervals for more spacing between appointments.
We do offer the option of an Exclusive Spa Package to include a 2/12 hour exclusive use of the Spa to include 5 Hot Tubs for up to 20 guests and Massage Packages based on availability. Please speak to Spa Director for more details .
If I am Pregnant, can I use the Hot Tub or Sauna?
Do I need to bring anything with me?
We will provide you with the necessities; Yukata (Japanese robe), towel, sandals. The rest is up to you!
